BIPOC Program

Meet our BIPOC Program Leader, Jared Hanson

Jared Hanson is a Fort Collins local and has been racing for 1st City Cycling's elite team for 5 seasons of road, CX, MTB, and endurance gravel races. He was the recipient of Ride For Racial Justice's BIPOC Scholarship at SBT GRVL 2021 & Gravel Gracelands 2019 BIPOC Scholarship. Jared has held many positions with local bike races including the media director for Cross of the North p/b Fat Tire cyclocross race. He has worked closely with OMBA as a member of the Diamond Peaks Mountain Bike Patrol to provide trail user assistance, trail maintenance, and partner with local land agencies to grow and maintain Larimer & Albany Counties' extensive trail networks.

Our BIPOC Entry program is back with 20 entries available. Scholarship Applications have closed for 2024. Athletes will be notified at the beginning of March regarding their application with additional support as requested to follow.

Additional support you can apply for includes:

  • Housing at CSU dorms or local, bikeable Airbnb

  • Childcare grant

  • Hitch-A-Ride Carpool Gas Card
